Another wonderful day. Had a great sleep, The bed was wonderful, I’m all for this camping thing but I must say sleeping in a bed is so much better. Had breakfast with Laura then went outside to checked out Laura & Bob’s bikes, we all have Surly Disc Truckers – Blue with Brooks saddles. Cool. They were great Host.
Wheat field ready to harvest
Got into Ottawa to Melissa’ home ( my WS host) by 12:00. Did a quick unpack, then headed downtown to the Parliament buildings. Melissa lives right near the bike trails, basically I just had to follow the Rideau canal. Makes it pretty easy not to get lost.
Oh I must say thank you to Laurie and Stan for my lunch yesterday – burgers and today smoke sausage (my care package)
This bridge must copie the bridge in Paris with the lock of love.
I did some sightseeing, took some pictures, saw the grave of the unknown soldier, and the parliament building.
Tried my first Beavertail it was really sweet. Asked the girl working there what would she suggest and she said the maple syrup one. Next time I’ll just get the cinnamon one.
Headed back to Melissa, she was going to be home by 4:30 so wanted to be there to meet her before she went kayaking. I’ll do more sightseeing tomorrow.
So couple days ago I got phone by the Canadian Blood Services that I’m due to do a donation. And I saw a clinic in Sudbury and passed it up but thought oh there’s a clinic close to Melissa’s house so just get her done in Ottawa. So gave some blood and then went out to eat at a Indian restaurant, good food.
